Our lack of action is at most disturbing. I mean, there are only three or so people active at least on this website. Something must be done about this inactivity. There must be a way to bring about more posting, without firing the remaining BanHalo Installations. We must find such a way, those things take forever to actually reach anything...

What would you have your Arbiter do?

It's just that time of year when people are finishing up school and partying.

Especially people in the States. So I assume that we'll be back when we have more free time on our hands.

That, and the most active member in half the RPs is having too much fun tearing it up in RTS games to be bothered to come back.

Yeah, I'll be playing World in Conflict a bit longer, I think.

I think a lot of people don't bother to take part because A) they see only 3 people posting and B) they get a real sense of hostility and a lack of welcome towards new arrivals.

That's the mark of death for a forum like this one: There really can be NO public fighting or insulting by anyone for any reason, because it SHOWS. And the newbies will think twice before they come back.

This is a lesson that seems to escape a lot of people, and it's a shame others must suffer for it.

A new Welcome thread could be made, one setting out in no uncertain terms that people who are still "learning the trade", so to speak, can post without fear of being flamed to ashes by those who think they know better, or by those who DO know better but have no diplomacy in their souls at all.

We "core" membership types need to set the example. Let's make it one that people like to see.

I mean, let's face it, on my "Things I Hate" list, you're up there with Blue Shells in Mario Kart and the goddamned Scrin from CnC3. For what it's worth, though, I hate the Scrin more.

I'm not sure who to agree with. On one hand, I love to play nearly any RTS my hands are able to reach... (GDI for the win!)

Arbiter, I know I can't change people. But it is possible to enforce good behaviour, whether they want to or not. I have a lot of experience on many forums doing just that and it works, more often than not. Generally, if they can't take the rules, they quit.

I can take the rules, just not your totalitarian asshole attitude. At least Arbiter got it right and didn't get all "BAWW" when Decker chewed his character up and ate him for breakfast - it wasn't being a dick, it was staying in character.

Besides, let's face it, without me, this forum goes from almost dead with 4 active members to totally dead with 3 members. You want to ban me? Go ahead. I'd rather not put up with your bullshit if you feel like you're still entitled to complete suppression of anybody's viewpoints you happen to disagree with.
